Hindsight — Decision Journal privacy policy

The short version
Hindsight is a private, on-device decision journal. Version 1.0 has no account, backend, cloud sync, developer telemetry, advertising, or third-party analytics. Your forecasts, confidence, reflections, and Insights stay on your device, and the developer cannot see them.
Information stored on your device
Hindsight stores the content you create so the app can work: forecast or decision statements, your chosen 0-100% confidence, optional reasoning, categories, options, and notes, creation and review dates, recorded outcomes and reflections, and derived on-device calibration results. It also stores local drafts and preferences such as onboarding completion, appearance, reminder choices, and haptic settings.
On-device Insights
Calibration and other Insights - observed outcome rate, average stated confidence, calibration gap, confidence bands, and Brier score - are calculated locally from eligible records. They are never uploaded or used for advertising, profiling, or developer analytics.
Notifications
If you enable review reminders, Hindsight schedules local notifications through iOS. Reminder text is generic and never includes your forecast or journal content. You can deny or revoke permission in iOS Settings. Hindsight does not use a remote push-notification server.
Exporting and deletion
You can export your journal as JSON or PDF; files are created locally and go only to the destination you pick in the iOS share sheet. Example records are kept separate from personal records and are excluded from your personal export. You can delete individual records or clear Hindsight data inside the app, and deleting the app removes its local data from the device, subject to Apple's device and backup behavior.
Children
Hindsight is a judgment tool designed for adults and is not directed to children under 13.
Changes
This policy will be reviewed and updated before Hindsight introduces any account, server, synchronization, telemetry, social feature, or other remote data practice.
